Maureen White was born in Atlantic City New Jersey and raised in Richmond, Virginia. Maureen White attended Emory University School of Law, and was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1990. Since graduating from law school, Maureen White has dedicated her career to being a Virginia defense attorney and to developing the trial skills necessary to effectively and aggressively defend her clients. Ms. White worked as a law clerk to judges who heard only criminal cases before joining the Public Defender’s Office. As a Virginia criminal lawyer in that office Ms. White perfected her trial skills in defending hundreds of misdemeanor and felony offenses which included traffic offenses, theft and fraud cases, violent offenses such as murder, rape, other sex offenses, robbery, abduction, assault, drugs and narcotics and property offenses such as breaking and entering, property damage, and trespass. At the Public Defender’s Office, Maureen White also handled appeals for the office.
In 1995, Ms White entered private practice where she continued to focus on criminal defense and criminal appeals in all state and Federal Courts. In private practice, Maureen White has also developed expertise in the defense of juveniles charged with criminal offenses, and domestic cases each of which require the same skills in criminal defense, which are a thorough knowledge of the law, the rules of evidence and thorough preparation and investigation of each case. Through her experience she has also become a skilled domestic violence attorney.
